About the Farm..
Our aim is… to practice the Art of Mindful Living here at Ahena Organic Farm. We overlook green fields, cattle, sheep, a couple of neighbouring farms, a few trees and the top of Croagh Patrick on a clear day. This is a fully working organic farm, mainly beef suckler but also grain crop and kitchen gardens.
We offer Natural Health and Wellbeing modalities here at our purpose build Natural Therapy Centre. We also provide Social Farming opportunities in conjunction with SoFI (Social Farming Ireland).
Both Oliver and Anna work part-time in the field of Natural Health and Wellbeing, Oliver as the Psychotherapist/ Counsellor and Farmer. Anna works as a full-time Artist and is a qualified Art teacher with the Teaching Council of Ireland in further education.
Main farming Enterprise: Organic Suckler Beef on 130 acres. Also, Forage Crops. Organic Kitchen Garden with small poly tunnel / raised beds & Native Irish Apple Orchard (non-commercial). Our Family Farm at Ahena comprises of 70 acres with 3 cattle sheds & a straw shed. Farming is a way of life so our home & farming life are intrinsically entwined.
Daily Meditation, the practice of Mindfulness and the making of Art are simple but important activities which we include in our daily routines.
